There will be more information on these specific sections (public transport etc.) on individual pages as it gets closer to the time - for now this page gives you a basic indication of costs for you to make an informed decision about joining us on tour.
Meals, Food & Drink
Like all places and cities, Porto has its fair range of restaurants and cafés with prices varying at each place between budget and gourmet levels. As a guide, you can expect:
A meal in a cheaper restaurant to cost €7-€12 in total.
Coffee and tea in cafés normally cost approximately €2,50. Pastries are nice and cheap often if you find the right place!
Beer is cheaper in Porto at a regular cost of approximately €2 per bottle, as well as wine (particularly that of Porto and Douro Valley) which can cost anywhere between €10-€25 in a restaurant at marked up price levels.
What will I spend on tour?
On Tour, expect to spend €20 on food and each day. However, with alcohol included this could increase to around €30.
Overall: €100-€120
Sightseeing & Tours
DUPO & DUCE will organise and subsidise some sightseeing. We will keep an overall cost for the various group visits (which are optional!) to approximately €25 for the whole tour. This may go up or down, and you can come to some or all of it (which will change the price).
In addition, you may wish to enjoy some of the other attractions, a few have pricing:
Hop-on Hop-off Sightseeing tour €25
Boat cruise along river €15
Vila Nova da Gaia cable car €6
Torre de Clérigos €6
A lot of the big sights within the city, including many of the churches, Cathedral & Luis Bridge are completely free to access. So, all-in-all, exploring Porto can be done at whatever price range you'd like, for free or at a reasonable price!
What will I spend on tour?
On Tour, expect to spend €25 overall at the very max!
Overall: €25
Public Transport
Public Transport is quite reasonably priced in Porto. Of course, being a relatively small city, a lot of attractions and venues are all walkable distances, so you do not need to rely on or pay for any other forms of transport.
If you did need to take a tram or bus, prices are as follows:
Metro tickets (single) €1,40
Tram tickets (single) €3
Bus tickets (single) €1,85
One cost to keep in mind will be transport to and from the airport. This can cost between €2-€25 each way depending on whether you choose metro / bus (cheaper) or taxi (much more expensive, but more efficient if you need it to be!).
What will I spend on tour?
On Tour, expect to spend €2-€20 overall (but again, this could be done even cheaper / more expensive).
Overall: €2-€20
Andante & Porto Tour Card
One consideration you may wish to make would be purchasing an Andante or Porto Tour card - these are more expensive, but include access to different sights and public transport as a package deal.
It's worth considering carefully whether you'll get your money's worth with this option!
